We were having our roof completely re-done and apparently that was the cause of the fire, which started on the patio cover. Everything in the garage is a complete loss, but we're hoping that we'll find quite a bit that's salvagable when we start picking through the pieces.
This is the firemen that blocked off the street. We had an amazing network of neighbors and church friends that were there to offer support.

Here is the view when you look in the front door. Straight ahead is our entertainment unit and the fireplace is on the far wall facing the door. An amazing neighbor of ours saved the dogs and then went back in for our favorite piece of art from over the fireplace. He's my hero. It's weird to see the sunlight streaming in.

This used to be Shaun's office. You can still see where his arcade machine is on the back left. The firemen put a water/fire shield over all of the computers before they hosed it down so hopefully we'll be able to recover our photos and the tons of other stuff we had on our server.

Here is my kitchen looking from the sink back to my office. You can see where my monitor is still on the desk. I was discouraged to see that the pots and pans on the hanging rack seem to be fine. I suppose I'll be expected to cook again. :) They might mysteriously end up in the 'trash' pile. :)

Finally, here's the garage, with my gorgeous brand new state-of-the-art washer/dryer shells visible and in the picture on the right you can make out the wheels from the awesome tool chest Shaun got from Mom for his birthday.

They say pictures are worth a thousand words, but these pictures just leave me speechless when I look at them again. Thank you to everyone for their love and support.
